Privacy Agreement 

CNRL Recruitment Privacy and Anti-Spam Terms and Conditions of Use

 

Canadian Natural Resources Limited, (“CNRL”) recognizes the importance of privacy protection, and acts in compliance with all applicable provincial and federal Canadian privacy laws.  Please review this document carefully.  It contains important information regarding the terms of the collection, use and disclosure of personal information submitted through the CNRL Candidate Management System (“CMS”) and your usage of the CMS.

 

Use of Candidate Information

Information provided electronically by users of CNRL’s (“CMS”) will be utilized by CNRL, its affiliate companies and contracted agents and representatives for the purpose of recruitment, hiring, and human resources management for CNRL only.

 

More specifically, CNRL will collect and use personal information for the purpose of recruiting and hiring suitable candidates for employment by CNRL and its affiliates.  Information provided will be stored electronically on one or more secured servers and may be used in the future by CNRL to assess candidates’ suitability for one or more job competitions, both in Canada and internationally.  In this regard, CNRL may contact you by email, telephone, or social media to:

  •        Verify your contact information
  •        review and verify other information you have submitted; and
  •        provide information and determine your interest in competitions where you may or may not have
  •        submitted a formal or specific application.

Types of Information

CNRL’s CMS maintains personal information that you voluntarily submit and, in some cases, personal information provided by your references and others in the course of the evaluation and hiring process. To the extent appropriate and in accordance with applicable law, CNRL representatives seeking to fill a position may contact your references, referrer, or other third parties named in your application or resume to seek additional data related to your qualifications, such as affirmation of attendance in educational programs.

 

CNRL may collect and use additional information about you, such as pre-employment test scores and assessments administered by or on behalf of CNRL, for the purpose of managing the candidate relationship.

 

Your file within CNRL’s CMS is referred to as a candidate profile.  Your candidate profile will be retained for such time as may be required to complete the recruitment process or alternatively, to facilitate future consideration for other positions which may come available and for which you may be qualified.

 

Disclosure Required by Law

In certain circumstances, and in accordance with applicable law, personal information contained within CNRL’s CMS may be disclosed to law enforcement, regulatory or other government agencies, or to other third parties.

 

Accuracy of Information

You are responsible for ensuring that all information submitted by you and contained within the CMS is accurate, complete, and up-to-date.  Knowingly submitting inaccurate, false, or misleading information may make you ineligible for consideration for employment opportunities, and in some cases where we rely upon such information, may lead to termination of employment with CNRL.

 

CNRL takes all reasonable steps to ensure that information collected within the CMS by its employees and representatives is correct, however, we will rely upon you to access the CMS periodically to update or verify your personal information and to confirm your willingness to receive communications from CNRL.

 

Withdrawing From Participation

Participants in CNRL’s CMS should contact CNRL via email directed to cnrlcareers@cnrl.com indicating whether they wish to withdraw from a particular competition or alternatively, from all participation in the CMS.  In these cases, CNRL will require up to ten (10) days to process such changes to your candidate profile.

 

Cookies and Web Beacons

To ensure that the CMS is well managed and to facilitate improved navigation, the CMS may use cookies (small text files stored in a user's browser) or Web beacons (electronic images that allow the system to count visitors who have accessed a particular page and to access certain cookies) to collect aggregate data.

 

Neither cookies nor Web beacons collect any personal information such as your name or email address. Visitors may be denied access to some parts of the CMS if their browsers are set to decline cookies.

 

Liability

IN INDICATING THEIR ACCEPTANCE OF THESE TERMS OF USE, USERS OF THE CANDIDATE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM ASSUME ALL RISK OF SUCH USE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO RISKS OF LOSS RESULTING FROM SUCH USAGE.  NEITHER CNRL NOR ITS AFFILIATES, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS OR REPRESENTATIVES SHALL BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DIRECT, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES WHETHER ARISING UNDER COMMON LAW, STATUTE, OR IN EQUITY, RELATING TO OR ARISING FROM INDIVIDUALS’ USE OF OR RELIANCE UPON THE CANDIDATE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM.

 

CERTAIN LINKS IN THE CANDIDATE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM LEAD TO RESOURCES MAINTAINED BY THIRD PARTIES OVER WHOM THE CNRL ENTITIES HAVE NO CONTROL.  NO CNRL ENTITY MAKES ANY REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES WHATSOEVER, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AS TO THE ACCURACY OR SECURITY OF THOSE RESOURCES.

 

Consent

These Terms of Use may be modified from time to time and any such modified document will be posted to the Candidate Management System. You may request this document or any successor document at any time by contacting CNRL via email directed to cnrlcareers@cnrl.com.  Your continued usage of the Candidate Management System after any changes to this document will mean you accept those changes.

 

By completing an application form and submitting it to CNRL you are consenting to:

  • verify your contact information
  • review and verify other information you have submitted; and
  • provide information and determine your interest in competitions where you may or may not have submitted a formal or specific application.

You certify the information provided in this application is correct and true to the best of your knowledge.  You understand that any misrepresentation may disqualify you from employment and/or result in dismissal at any point during any resulting employment.

 

In order to submit such application, you must agree to the Terms and Conditions, Privacy and Consent to Contact.

 

You may withdraw your consent at any time.

 

By continuing with your job application, you are indicating that you understand and agree to the Terms & Conditions and Privacy herein; and you consent to be contacted via electronic messages for the purposes of recruitment, hiring and human resources management, for current and future employment opportunities as they come available from time to time.
